Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before using Causal Blog. By accessing or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Introduction

Welcome to Causal Blog — an AI-Powered Blogging and Knowledge Platform (the "Platform"). By accessing or using our Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before using our services.

The Platform is operated by Causal Blogs and provides users with access to curated editorial content, AI-assisted content analysis tools, and optional premium subscription features. We are a content and technology platform — we do not provide financial, legal, medical, or professional advisory services of any kind.

Causal Blogs also develops and distributes Orion, a desktop application. Orion is governed by a separate End User License Agreement ("EULA") provided at the time of installation. These Terms do not apply to your use of Orion unless expressly stated.

2. About the Platform

Our Platform offers the following core features and services:

  • Public Blog Reading: Visitors may browse and read all publicly published articles without registering.
  • AI Content Analysis Tool: Registered users may use our built-in AI feature to generate exploratory, speculative insights and analytical summaries based on the content of published articles. These outputs are entirely AI-generated and are intended for educational and informational engagement only.
  • User Accounts & Subscriptions: Users may register for a free account to access basic platform features. Premium subscription tiers unlock additional AI usage, advanced content tools, and exclusive content.
  • Publishing: The Platform hosts both curated editorial content from invited contributors and blogs created by registered users. All published content is subject to our Content & Editorial Policy described in Section 4.
  • Affiliate Store: Writer tier subscribers may operate an affiliate store to list and promote affiliate links alongside their published content, subject to the activity and link requirements described in Section 9.

3. AI Feature — Important Disclaimer

The AI-powered analysis feature on this Platform generates speculative, exploratory content based on published articles. Users must understand and agree to the following:

  • AI outputs are not predictions, guarantees, or professional recommendations of any kind
  • AI-generated content is not financial, investment, tax, legal, or medical advice
  • All AI outputs are entirely hypothetical and intended solely for intellectual engagement, curiosity, and general educational purposes
  • The Platform and its operators are not responsible for any decisions made based on AI-generated content
  • Users should independently verify any information before relying on it for real-world decisions
  • AI outputs may reflect the limitations, biases, or errors of the underlying models and are not reviewed or endorsed by the Platform

By using the AI feature, you explicitly acknowledge that you are engaging with a content exploration tool — not an advisory or forecasting service.

4. Content & Editorial Policy

Articles and blogs published on this Platform are created by invited editorial contributors and registered users. Content may cover topics including but not limited to technology, current affairs, science, culture, and general knowledge.

Content published on this Platform:

  • Is intended for general informational and educational purposes only
  • Does not constitute professional advice in any domain
  • Represents the views of the individual contributor and not the Platform as a whole
  • Is reviewed before publication but may not always reflect the most current information on a given topic

By publishing content on this Platform, you grant Causal Blogs a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, distribute, and promote that content on the Platform and in connection with our services. You retain full ownership of your original content. The Platform reserves the right to remove any user-published content that violates these Terms, our editorial standards, or applicable law, without prior notice.

5. User Accounts and Subscriptions

5.1 Free Account

Users may register for a free account to access basic features including limited AI content analysis queries, bookmarking, and content notifications. All new registered users receive a one-time signup bonus of 10 AI credits (equivalent to 100,000 tokens) upon registration at no charge.

Free accounts are not without opportunity — free users can earn additional platform benefits through consistent publishing activity. See Section 10 (Publishing Rewards Programme) for details on how publishing milestones unlock affiliate store slots and other rewards at no cost.

5.2 Premium Subscriptions

Premium users gain access to enhanced AI query limits, affiliate store slots, expanded storage, and additional platform features. The Platform offers two categories of subscription:

Reader Plans

Designed for users who primarily consume content and use AI-powered analysis tools:

  • Reader — 50 AI queries/month, priority content access (₹99/month or ₹799/year)
  • Reader Pro — 500 AI queries/month, full AI analysis suite, priority support (₹799/month or ₹6,999/year)

Writer Plans — Annual Only

Designed for users who publish content and operate affiliate stores. All writer plans are billed annually:

  • Writer Basic — 1 blog, 50 affiliate slots, 1 GB storage, SEO AI tools (₹99/year)
  • Writer Standard — 3 blogs, 70 affiliate slots, 3 GB storage, 50 AI credits/month included (₹399/year)
  • Writer Creator — 5 blogs, 90 affiliate slots, 5 GB storage, 100 AI credits/month included (₹899/year)
  • Writer Pro — 5 blogs, 110 affiliate slots, 15 GB storage, 250 AI credits/month included, unlimited template downloads (₹1,999/year)

Writer Basic subscribers do not receive monthly AI credits as part of their plan. AI credits may be purchased separately — see Section 11.

AI Credit Add-on Plans — Monthly

Available as an add-on to any subscription tier for users requiring additional AI capacity beyond their included allowance:

  • AI Starter — 300 additional credits/month (₹699/month)
  • AI Power — 700 additional credits/month (₹1,299/month)

AI credit add-on plans stack on top of any credits already included in your writer subscription tier. See Section 11 for full details on how AI credits work.

5.3 Account Responsibilities

  • You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • You agree not to share your account with others or use the Platform for any unlawful purpose
  • You must be at least 18 years of age to create an account and subscribe
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account at support@causalblogs.com

5.4 Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us at support@causalblogs.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, and your access to all platform features will cease. Any unused AI credits or affiliate slots are forfeited upon account deletion and are non-refundable.

6. Payments & Refunds

Payments for premium subscriptions are processed securely through our third-party payment gateway partners. By making a payment, you agree to the terms of our payment processor in addition to these Terms.

  • Subscription fees and refund eligibility are governed by our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings; access will continue until the end of your current billing period
  • Prices are displayed in Indian Rupees (INR) unless otherwise stated, and are inclusive of applicable taxes
  • Writer tier subscriptions are billed annually; Reader tier subscriptions may be billed monthly or annually as selected at checkout
  • AI credit add-on plans are billed monthly and do not qualify for annual discounts
  • AI credits purchased via add-on plans are non-transferable and non-refundable once the monthly period has commenced
  • The Platform reserves the right to change subscription pricing with 30 days advance notice to your registered email address
  • If you are accessing the Platform from outside India, you are responsible for any additional taxes, duties, or fees imposed by your local jurisdiction

7. Intellectual Property

  • All content published on this Platform, including articles, AI-generated summaries, design elements, and branding, is the property of Causal Blogs or its respective contributors
  • Users may not reproduce, distribute, or use Platform content for commercial purposes without express written permission
  • AI-generated content produced in response to your queries belongs to you for personal use. The Platform makes no intellectual property claim over outputs generated from your prompts.
  • Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you submit to us may be used by Causal Blogs without obligation or compensation to you

8. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Platform at scale
  • Submit false, misleading, or harmful content via contact forms, publishing tools, or any other inputs
  • Attempt to manipulate the AI feature to produce harmful, defamatory, or misleading outputs
  • Share, resell, or transfer your account credentials to any third party
  • Use the Platform in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair its functionality
  • Publish content that is defamatory, obscene, discriminatory, or that infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party
  • Use automated tools, bots, or scripts to access or interact with the Platform without our express written consent
  • Submit affiliate links that redirect through URL shorteners, cloaking services, or that lead to prohibited content as determined by our AI moderation and Google Safe Browsing verification systems

9. Affiliate Store — Activity Requirements and Link Policy

To maintain an active affiliate store, Writer tier subscribers must publish a minimum of 2 blog posts per 30-day subscription cycle, calculated from your subscription start date.

Failure to meet this requirement will result in the following process:

  • A notification email will be sent to your registered address informing you of the shortfall, with a 15-day grace period to meet the requirement
  • If the minimum is not met within the 15-day grace period, your account will be downgraded to the Free tier and your affiliate store will be frozen for 6 months
  • During the freeze period, your store and all affiliate links within it will be inaccessible to visitors
  • After the 6-month freeze period, your store can be reactivated by resuming active publishing under an active Writer subscription

Affiliate links submitted to your store are subject to automatic rejection under the following conditions:

  • Spam: Links identified as unsolicited, repetitive, or low-quality promotional content
  • Malware: Links that fail Google Safe Browsing verification or are flagged as distributing malicious software
  • Account inactivity: Stores belonging to accounts that fail the minimum publishing requirement are frozen as described above

Rejected links will be removed from your store with a reason provided via email. The Platform reserves the right to permanently remove stores that repeatedly violate these conditions.

10. Publishing Rewards Programme

Causal Blogs operates a publishing rewards programme that allows free account holders to unlock platform benefits through consistent content contribution — at no cost.

Rewards are earned automatically based on cumulative publishing milestones. Examples of rewards include:

  • Affiliate Store Access: Free users who reach publishing milestones (for example, publishing 10 posts) may unlock a limited number of affiliate store slots without requiring a paid subscription
  • Additional milestones may unlock further slots or other platform benefits as announced from time to time

Rewards earned through the programme are permanent and are not revoked if the user's publishing activity subsequently decreases, unless the account is found to be in violation of these Terms. The Platform reserves the right to modify, add, or remove reward milestones with reasonable notice. Existing earned rewards will not be retroactively removed due to programme changes.

11. AI Credits

AI features on this Platform operate on a credit-based system. The following terms govern how credits are awarded, consumed, and managed:

  • Credit value: 1 AI credit = 10,000 tokens consumed. Token usage is rounded up to the nearest whole credit per operation.
  • Signup bonus: All new registered users receive 10 free credits (100,000 tokens) upon account creation. This bonus is awarded once per account and is non-transferable.
  • Monthly included credits: Writer Standard, Creator, and Pro plans include a fixed number of AI credits that refresh at the start of each calendar month. Unused credits from the previous month do not carry over.
  • Credit add-on plans: Additional monthly credits may be purchased via the AI Starter or AI Power plans. These stack on top of any credits included in your writer subscription tier.
  • Monthly refresh: Credit refresh is applied lazily on your first AI operation of each calendar month. No action is required from you.
  • Insufficient credits: If your credit balance reaches zero, AI operations will be paused until credits are topped up via a credit add-on plan or the next monthly refresh.
  • Non-transferability: AI credits are tied to your account and cannot be transferred, gifted, or sold to another user.
  • Expiry: Credits included in a subscription tier expire if the subscription lapses. Purchased add-on credits expire at the end of the monthly billing period for which they were purchased.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Platform and its operators shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from:

  • Your use of or inability to use the Platform
  • Any reliance placed on AI-generated content or editorial articles
  • Unauthorised access to your account or data
  • Any interruptions, errors, or downtime of the Platform
  • Any third-party services, payment processors, or AI model providers used in connection with the Platform

Where liability cannot be fully excluded under applicable consumer protection law (including but not limited to the Indian Consumer Protection Act 2019), our liability shall be limited to the amount you paid to us in the 3 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

13. Privacy

We are committed to protecting your privacy. Our collection and use of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Platform, you consent to the data practices described in our Privacy Policy.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom, you may have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or the UK GDPR respectively. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for details on how we handle such requests.

14. International Use

This Platform is operated from India. If you access the Platform from outside India, you do so at your own initiative and are solely responsible for compliance with your local laws and regulations, including any applicable data protection, consumer protection, or content laws. We make no representation that the Platform or its content is appropriate or available for use in any particular jurisdiction.

15. Force Majeure

The Platform shall not be held liable for any failure or delay in performance of its obligations where such failure or delay results from causes beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, natural disasters, pandemics, government actions, internet or infrastructure outages, third-party service failures (including cloud providers or AI model providers), or any other event outside the Platform's reasonable control. In such events, the Platform will make reasonable efforts to restore service as quickly as practicable.

16. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of India. We encourage you to contact us first to resolve any disputes amicably before initiating legal proceedings.

If you are a consumer located in the EU or UK, you may also be entitled to bring proceedings in the courts of your country of residence under applicable mandatory consumer protection laws.

17. Modifications to These Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms at any time. Where changes are material, we will notify registered users by email or via a prominent notice on the Platform at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Changes will be effective upon posting to the Platform with an updated effective date. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid under applicable law, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, or severed if modification is not possible. The remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

19. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Causal Blogs with respect to your use of the Platform and supersede all prior agreements or understandings. For users of the Orion desktop application, the Orion EULA governs that product separately.
